Sharpshooter
Sharpshooter is one of the six main classes in game Corsairs Tales of Pirates Online. Lance and Phyllis can become Seal masters. Shapshooter deals mainly physical damage from melee attacks and skills from distance. Depending on the equipment and build, SS can be either a damage dealer/carry or a support for his guild. Can carry both a gun and a bow.
Pros and cons of sharpshooter
Pros:
+ Longest attack range and fastest movement speed of any class.
+ With a bow sharpshooter can deal damage from a long distance, and with a gun it has very good control: it can seal the enemy, weakening him, due to which he is indispensable on bosses and in pk even with poor equipment.
+ Usually, equipment and gems for a Sharpshooter are not very expensive, and even with an average character and equip, SS becomes quite good at farming, leveling up and in pk.
Cons:
- The lowest increase in HP and defense among all classes.
- Due to low survivability, it is often dependent on the guild.
- To go from a support to a carry requires an average investment in equipment.
How to become sharpshooter
At level 10, the player needs to complete the 1st class promotion quest of Hunter. The quest is taken from NPC Newbie Guide - Senna in Argent (2224,2786). Upon reaching level 40, player need to complete the 2nd class promotion quest, which is taken from the NPC Icicle Swordsman - Ray in Icicle (1365,571). The recommended places for leveling can be found on the page Character leveling.
What stats and skills to learn and level up
Classic sharpshooter
Main stat of sharpshooter that should be increased to maximum (100) first is accuracy. As the accuracy increases, sharpshooter's attack increases. Additional stats that should be increased after accuracy are agility or constitution. Agility is increasing attack speed and DPS that can be usefull both during pk or during farming and leveling. Constitution is slightly increasing survivability that can be usefull in pk. If you need to reset stat points, you can purchase stat reset potions in item mall for IMPs or for gold from NPC Baby in Argent (2202,2776). The order of skill learning is different, depending on what SS uses more often: a gun or a bow. At higher levels, skill points are enough to upgrade skills both for a gun and for a bow. Since after level 40, guns are much easier to get than bows, it is recommended that new players stick to leveling skills for guns in the first place.
Order of leveling skills for guns (recommended for new players):
- Range Mastery - 5
- Dual Shot - 3
- Frozen Arrow - 1
- Windwalk - 5
- Rousing - 10
- Cripple - 10
- Enfeeble - 10
- Headshot - 1
- Windwalk - 10
- Range Mastery - 10
- Firegun Mastery - 10
Order of leveling skills for bows:
- Range Mastery - 2
- Dual Shot - 3
- Frozen Arrow - 1
- Dual Shot - 10
- Range Mastery - 10
- Meteor Shower - 1
- Windwalk - 5
- Rousing - 10
- Windwalk - 10
- Frozen Arrow - 10
Pure con sharpshooter
An alternative build is "pure con SS". Sharpshooter, which primarily increases the constitution. Such a sharpshooter has a lot of HP and defense, but in most cases, the long-term DPS against players or bosses is not that great. This is a very situational build, the main goals of which are to support the guild: sealing bosses and enemy characters during pk. At the same time, the con SS can independently level up and farm common monsters, since the con increases the attack against ordinary monsters (this is not displayed in the statistics tab) and hit rate. The main source of damage of the con SS is the Magma Bullet skill (see details in the skills section of the guide). Also, after completing the Phoenix Rebirth quest, if certain conditions are met, the con SS using the Headshot skill can one-shot enemy characters who have a small amount of HP (including Clerics whose Energy Shield will be ignored).
Order of leveling skills:
- Range Mastery - 5
- Windwalk - 10
- Cripple - 10
- Enfeeble - 10
- Headshot - 10
- Magma Bullet - 10
If you need to reset your skills, you can purchase the Book for Regaining Ability in item mall for IMPs in section "Character".
Sharpshooter equipment
Main equipment
Up to level 45, a sharpshooter can use equipment from a newbie chest. After that, you should look for equipment at level 45+, which drops out of equipment summon scrolls. In equipment, you should pay attention to the presence of bonuses to accuracy and agility first and constitution second. Special attention should be paid to gloves: a good option would be gloves Lv 55+, giving from 9 accuracy and higher. Universal equipment is from dusty chests (Lv 60) and Lv 55 unseals. Lv 60 chests drop guns, but don't drop bows. Among Lv 55 unseals, there are both gun and a bow. More details can be found on the Equipment page. Hat (+5 defense) can be bought from NPC Weird Hat Seller in Argent (2241,2771).
